Stock the SSAS Food Pantry

The SSAS has started a food pantry at Scholars East and West for SSP students. They may take items from the pantry when their meal plan runs out or as needed. Currently, we are looking to fill the pantry with non-perishable, shelf-stable foods.  These should be items that need little or no preparation, in individual serving sizes when possible.

Some examples of items needed include:

  • Individual microwavable mac-n-cheese cups
  • Canned soup or chili (easy-open tabs are a plus, but not required)
  • Ravioli and Chef Boyardee canned pastas and meat
  • Individual servings of nuts or trail mix
  • Granola bars or other breakfast bars (fig bars, Belvita, etc.)
  • Fruit and applesauce cups
  • Canned tuna or chicken
  • Beef jerky, Slim Jims
  • Ramen noodles
  • JIF “to-go” (individual servings of peanut butter)
  • Instant oatmeal packets
  • Snack food items: Chex Mix, pretzels, crackers, graham crackers, Cheez-Its, chips, peanut butter crackers, popcorn, etc.

Any donation is very much appreciated!  Many of these items can be found in bulk at Costco and Sam’s Club.  We will accept donations at any of our board meetings and at many events throughout the year.
